NBC Universal announced news on 19 September 2008 that it would soon permit consumers to download many of its most popular programs free to personal computers and other devices for one week immediately after their broadcasts. The service is set to start in November.

In Finland the National Broadcasting Channel opened an service similar to the above mentioned. The main idea is to broadcast documentary, news, podcasts and some drama production in Internet. However the service does not provide all the broadcast due to copyrights.
